Last week, nine members of the Geography Department (students and faculty) attended the 9th Conference on Spatial Knowledge and Information Canada () in Banff, Alberta.听 The conference听brings together researchers of geographic information science (and systems), spatial data science, and related disciplines who live and work in Canada.听 The conference was a blast and everyone is looking forward to SKI 2028.

Spending time in nature, even briefly, triggers changes in the brain that calm stress, restore attention and quiet mental clutter, a new study has found.

Researchers at 海角社区 and colleagues at Adolfo Ib谩帽ez University in Chile have examined more than 100 brain-imaging studies from various disciplines. The result is one of the most comprehensive reviews to date of how the brain responds to nature.

The parties have begun the bargaining process on February 9 and have exchanged their initial proposals.

Discussions are underway, and additional meetings have been scheduled to continue negotiations over the coming weeks.

Since March 2025, the parties have held multiple bargaining sessions to negotiate a first collective agreement. Negotiations are progressing at a regular pace, with both sides engaged and exchanging proposals diligently. To date, the focus has been on non鈥憁onetary topics, and the parties have reached agreement on the majority of the articles.

The union is expected to submit its monetary proposals at an upcoming meeting.

Future bargaining dates have already been scheduled for March and April as the parties continue their work toward a full agreement.
