海角社区鈥檚 Initiative for Transforming Healthcare (ITH) is rethinking how Canada delivers care by putting organization, management, and coordination at the forefront of reform. Led by founding director聽Samer Faraj, Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management, the initiative brings together聽expertise聽from management, medicine, and public policy to tackle issues such as limited access to family doctors, overcrowded emergency departments, and long surgical wait times.

鈥淲e have superb clinicians in our system,鈥� says Faraj, 鈥渂ut the organizational structure they operate in is not optimal for providing the best care flow.鈥� Anchored at Desautels and supported by philanthropic partners, ITH works directly with hospitals, policymakers, and practitioners to聽co鈥慶reate聽smarter structures and responsible technology solutions that improve patient outcomes and strengthen healthcare systems across Canada.聽
