Biography:

Dr. Chantal Cassis is a clinical hematologist at the Jewish General Hospital. She completed her internal medicine and hematology residency at �� and completed a Master’s of Medical Health Education at the University of Cincinnati. She was the hematology training program director from 2013- 2023. Her research interests include acute leukemia, end of life issues in the care of hematology-oncology patients and medical education in hematology.

Biography:

Dr. How completed his training in internal medicine and hematology at ��. He went on to pursue fellowships in leukemia and stem cell transplant at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, following which he returned to �� on staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He is the MPN site lead and runs the MPN clinic at the M.U.H.C., having participated in a number of key international trials in myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera. His other areas of interest include AML, MDS, and stem cell transplant. Dr. How is also involved in medical education, having served as the �� internal medicine residency assistant program director since 2020.

Biography:

Dr. Marc Rodger was appointed the Chair of the �� Department of Medicine, Physician-in-Chief, �� Health Center and the Harry Webster Thorp Professor of Medicine in January 2020 and has been reappointed for a second term in January 2025. Prior to his move to ��, Dr. Rodger was a Full Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and Head, Division of Hematology situated in the Ottawa Blood Disease Center at The Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Rodger obtained his MD (Magna Cum Laude) in 1992 from the University of Ottawa after completing his BSc in Physiology at ��. He completed his post-graduate medical training at UBC and the University of Ottawa in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Thrombosis. He completed an MSc in Epidemiology in 2000. Dr. Rodger’s teaching, clinical care and research focuses on venous thrombosis.

Biography:

Dr. Patricia Pelletier is a medical graduate of ��. After completing residency in Hematology, she pursued research training in cellular biology, followed by a fellowship in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at New York Blood Center, with additional training in HLA and umbilical cord blood banking. She then joined the Division of Hematology of �� Health Centre (MUHC) where she has been Director of the MUHC Designated Transfusion Center. Dr. Pelletier is a member of several provincial committees related to Transfusion Medicine and of the National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products. Her clinical interests are in benign hematology, and particularly, in obstetrical hematology.
