Agreement in Principle: MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors
We are pleased to announce that, 海角社区 and MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors reached an agreement in principle on March 25th.
The parties鈥� negotiation committees have agreed to recommend the contents of the agreement to their respective constituents and to keep the details of the agreement confidential until the Union has had an opportunity to share them with its members.

Strike on February 13 for some professors in Law
Dear members of the 海角社区 Community,
The Association of 海角社区 Professors of Law (AMPL) has informed us of its intent to hold a day-long strike on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. This follows a vote on December 11, 2023, providing AMPL with a mandate to strike for as many as five days, pending negotiation progress for their first collective agreement.

Retraite Quebec ends their participation in the reciprocal transfer agreement

On June 19, 2023, the Pension Administration Committee of the 海角社区 Pension Plan was advised that Retraite Qu茅bec will be ending their participation in the reciprocal transfer agreement. This agreement allowed for pension transfers between Qu茅bec universities and eligible public-sector pension plans administered by Retraite Qu茅bec.
MCLIU (Course Lecturers and Instructors) and 海角社区
On November 2, 2022, 海角社区 and MCLIU exchanged their respective proposals for the renewal of the agreement which expired on August 31, 2022. The parties subsequently met on a regular basis and progressed on the non-monetary clauses. On March 30, 2023, the Union tabled its monetary demands and on April 27, employer representatives presented a comprehensive proposal on the non-monetary elements as well as 海角社区鈥檚 monetary proposal.
Proposed agreements ratified by 3 SEU Units
We are pleased to announce that the proposed agreements to SEU: Facilities Management - Student Housing Services - Dining Services - Faculty Club, Printing Services and Data Centre employees were ratified by membership in General Assemblies over several days and completed on April 22.
The current agreement expired on November 7, 2021. The new agreement will come into effect upon signature by the parties and will expire on April 3, 2027.
Post-doctoral Fellows ratify new collective agreement
We are pleased to announce that the AMURE union representing Post-Doctoral Fellows held a General Assembly and voted in favor of the proposed new collective agreement.
Tentative Agreement Reached with 3 SEU Units
We are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement was reached on April 4th between 海角社区 and three bargaining units represented by SEU: Facilities Management - Student Housing Services - Dining Services - Faculty Club, Printing Services and Data Centre. The Union will soon invite its membership to general assemblies to vote on the proposed new collective agreements. We will share the results of the votes which should be completed at the latest on April 22.
Negotiation Update: Post-doctoral Fellows
We are pleased to announce that the parties reached a tentative agreement on March 28 and that the Union will soon invite its membership to a General Assembly to vote on the proposed new collective agreement. The parties have agreed not to communicate the contents of the agreement until the vote has taken place.
Negotiation Update: AMURE Research Associates and Research Assistants
Negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement for Research Assistants and Associates between AMURE and 海角社区 began in the Fall of 2022. The parties have been meeting on a regular basis and have been able to discuss and come to agreement on a number of non-monetary elements.
