�� Law ranked among the global top 30 law schools by QS

The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world’s top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed �� Law 30th worldwide.

Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.

Tina Piper appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Tina Piper as Dean of the Faculty of Law at ��. Her five-year term will begin on April 1, 2026.

Professor Piper has been serving as Interim Dean of Law since winter 2025. In this important transitional role, she has led �� Law with warmth, intellectual rigour, and a focus on cultivating both academic excellence and a strong sense of community.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce it was again ranked as one of the world’s top universities at which to study law. The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings placed �� 33rd worldwide.  

Since the law ranking was introduced in 2017, �� has consistently featured in the global top 35. This year, 425 law schools around the world were ranked.

��’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) is currently accepting applications for:

a 12-month clerkship at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA);
a 10-month fellowship at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The clerkships are due to start in September 2026.

The Faculty of Law mourns the passing of Nahum Gelber, CM, KC, BCL’57, a distinguished alumnus and cherished friend of our community.

Mr. Gelber’s visionary philanthropy made possible the creation of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, inaugurated in 1998. This state-of-the-art facility has since become a cornerstone of legal scholarship at ��, offering students a bright, open, and welcoming space for study and reflection. More than three decades later, the Gelber Library remains a beloved and vital part of campus life.
