The Modern Media Ecosystem: Risks, Realities, and Responsibilities

Tuesday, March 17, 2026 05:30to07:30

As part of Francof锚te 2026 at 海角社区, under the theme "French, Language of Knowledge," this session will be held in French and is brought to you by the 海角社区 Alumni Association.

Join us for an engaging evening discussion.

In an age of information overload, how do we distinguish fact from fiction - and how can media communication platforms serve the public good as powerful tools for public education and policy communication.

This evening discussion explores the forces shaping today's media landscape, examining how traditional and social media influence public perception, amplify misinformation, and shape collective debate - both at a broad global level and within the current and evolving Quebec and Canadian landscape. Participants will examine media-literacy issues, as well as the responsibilities and challenges of journalists, communicators, and citizens in navigating a digital ecosystem marked by political, social, and technological uncertainty in an informed manner.
