Wi-Fi network: Action required to renew certificates for Windows, iOS and MacOS devices

On the morning of Thursday, April 2nd, IT Services will renew the security certificate that secures authentication to ��'s wpa.mcgill.ca, eduroam, cusm-muhc.mcgill.ca, and wpa.bus.mcgill.ca Wi-Fi networks.

This certificate allows you to sign on to the Wi-Fi network securely.

Some Android and Windows devices, as well as all iOS/MacOS devices will display a message prompting users to accept the new certificate.

If you receive that message, please follow the instructions below:

Notice: Microsoft Planner for Teams – Service Disruption

Microsoft has experienced an incident affecting Planner in Teams, currently making it unavailable for some users.

A solution is in place, but it may take up to 72 hours to fully take effect.

Workaround: If Planner is missing or cannot be added in Teams, please use the Planner web app in the meantime.

Each machine will be briefly unavailable for about 3 minutes while the update is installed:

Around 1:30 p.m. for some machines
Around 2:30 p.m. for others

During this time, the machines will not respond.

Upgrade complete: Banner INB and Minerva now available

The required upgrade to Banner INB and Minerva, ��’s administrative system for student records and finance, has been successfully completed.

As of Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 pm, all affected systems are now fully operational, including:

Minerva (including student tax receipts and the �� MarketPlace)
myProgress (degree progress tracking)
myThesis (Thesis Examination Management)

What this means for current �� app users:

As of May 4, 2026, the �� mobile app will no longer be updated or available to download.
If you currently use the app, please uninstall it from your device(s) before May 4, 2026.

�� services currently accessed through the app will continue to be available through ��’s web-based platforms.

Teams update: the Files tab is being renamed Shared

As part of Microsoft’s latest Teams update, the Files tab (in channels and chats) is being renamed Shared. This change is being gradually rolled out. Some �� users will see this change before others. For a little while, you may see both Files and Shared tabs across your Teams.

What’s changing?

Previously, there was a Files tab in Teams channels and chats.

That tab is being renamed Shared, and it will bring together:
