My Neighbour's Faith: Lessons and Carols for Christmas at Christ Church Cathedral
Experience the religious side of Christmas with MORSL as we visit Christ Church Cathedral for a "Lessons and Carols" service. There will be six聽聽with performances by the church choir. The lessons contextualize the importance of the birth of Jesus Christ. After the service, the church community will serve cake and hot chocolate, and we鈥檒l have a few minutes to hold a Q&A with one of the community鈥檚 leaders.
We will meet inside the entrance of Christ Church Cathedral at 3:30 PM to find seating together. The service will start at 4:00 PM and the event will end around 5:30 PM.
Optional: we're also invited to join Rev. Sarah Wicks-Potter and St. Martha's Chapel, the in-house young adult community, for a visit to the nearby Christmas Market at Place Des Arts after the service!聽
If you've never been inside one of Montreal's historic churches or are curious how people mark this major holiday on a religious level, this event is for you!
Etiquette/ Expectations:
- No expected dress code, so dress how you feel comfortable.
- Cell phones must be turned to silent settings during services.
- Taking videos is not allowed. Do not take photographs of children or adults without obtaining their consent.
