Research findings challenge long-held assumptions about how we learn or regain speech

Learning to speak a new language,听or听regaining speech,听depends more on听areas of听the brain听that听process听sound and physical sensation than on听the听parts of the听brain that听govern听motor control,听according听to new research findings.听

The听study,听by听researchers at听海角社区 and the Yale School of Medicine,听has听implications for speech-learning theory and听for听the听development of听speech processing and recognition technologies.听
