DESCRIPTION:In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Decla
 ration of Human Rights (UDHR)\, this event will explore the extent to whic
 h the universal rights framework has succeeded or failed to include the ri
 ghts of people with disabilities.\n\nThis roundtable brings together acade
 mics\, researchers\, and students working on issues of disability and law 
 to discuss current and future issues facing people with disabilities\, wit
 hin the context of the 70th anniversary of the UDHR. Participants will con
 sider the following: Did the UDHR follow through with its promises of dign
 ity for all humans? What lies ahead for disability rights in Canada and ar
 ound the world?\n\nThe results of this discussion will shape and contribut
 e to the Winter conference\, which will explore the relationship between t
 he university and society at large\, and the potential of the university t
