Language Transition Notice for AFE Communications: Starting May 11, 2025, AFE communications will be exclusively in French except for certain exceptions. Students who communicated solely in English with AFE before May 13, 2021, will automatically continue receiving services in English. Others with English as their communication language will transition to French unless they meet specific exceptions. On May 7, 2025, notices will be sent to students via the AFE Portal. These notices will explain how to declare exceptions, but declarations can only be made starting May 11, 2025.
Alert to anglophone or non-french speaking students communicating with aide financi猫re aux 茅tudes (AFE):聽 According to AFE, as of June 1, 2023, in accordance with amendments to the Charter of the French language, the Minist猫re uses French only in its communications, with some exceptions. You may receive services in English if you are: (1) a person declared eligible to receive instruction in English by the Minist猫re de l'脡ducation (2) an Indigenous person (3) an immigrant who has arrived in Qu茅bec within the last six months (4) a person who was corresponding in English with the Minist猫re de l'Enseignement sup茅rieur prior to May 13, 2021.
