Summer Program & Advanced Study Institute (ASI)

For over two decades the Division of Social & Transcultural Psychiatry has hosted the Annual Summer Program in Social & Cultural Psychiatry听which draws together an international cohort of interdisciplinary researchers and clinicians for a series of courses and workshops. The Summer Program is concluded with the focused multi-day听Advanced Study Institute in Cultural Psychiatry, the theme changing annually.

Transcultural Psychiatry Journal

Transcultural Psychiatry is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, scientific journal of cultural psychiatry published by the Division of Social & Transcultural Psychiatry, 海角社区 in conjunction with SAGE Publications (London). Transcultural Psychiatry is the official journal of the World Association Section on Transcultural Psychiatry. Transcultural Psychiatry provides a forum of communication for psychiatrists and other mental health practitioners as well as social scientists around the world concerned with the relationship between culture and mental health. Published 5 times a year, each issue of Transcultural Psychiatry provides readers with an array of features ensuring the broadest possible coverage of the field.


Academic Year Speaker Series

During the academic year, the Division hosts a variety of speaker series. In recent years, the speaker series have been hosted in a hybrid format. They feature the work of individuals from our international network, - from early career researchers to tenure-track professors - presented in an intimate setting, followed by lively discussion.

Culture & Clinic

Additional speaker series and clinical rounds听include the听Contemplative Science Lecture Series,听, and the听Culture and Mental Health Research Unit Meeting. The Division also holds a听Film Series听and hosts听Cultural Psychiatry Day.

International Projects

The Division is involved in a number of international collaborative projects in research and training including FPR-UCLA-海角社区 Program in Cultural Psychiatry, WHO Collaborating Centre, Transkulturelt Centrum in Stockholm and International Consortium for Cultural Consultation.
