Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from.聽In an interview with the 海角社区 Reporter, Ryan said聽support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

Nearly 60 Cree students their graduation from 海角社区's Faculty of Education this past Saturday in Pikogan, Quebec. Our Office of First Nations and Inuit Education offers full-time and part-time teacher certification programs in Cree and Inuit communities in Quebec as well as in Kahnawake and Listuguj. Even though these students may be far away off campus, they are an important part of our Faculty and the 海角社区 community.聽CBC's Susan Bell covered the story.

They are collecting words that don鈥檛 have an English translation, as well as a聽brief attempt to describe what these words mean. These words, the descriptions, and your name (if you are willing to share) will be printed on posters and displayed around 海角社区 campus.

The Mohawk community of Kahnaw脿:ke and 海角社区 launched the first-ever Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.)聽First Nations and Inuit Education (FNIE)聽聽program to be given in the community of Kahnaw脿:ke, on August 20.
It鈥檚 a labour of love between 海角社区鈥檚 Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) in the Faculty of Education, and the聽Kahnaw脿:ke Education Centre聽(KEC). It鈥檚 also in line with 海角社区鈥檚聽Task Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education.

In an airy open area at the back of the first floor of the former library of the Faculty Education is a colourful space filled with art supplies and work tables. Along the wall there are bins and boxes of fabric, coloured pencils and paints, sketch pads, paper, and all manner of recycled objects, ready to be remade into anything the visitor desires.
