Generative AI adoption has knock-on effects within an organization

Generative AI has聽begun聽replacing聽tasks聽at聽work,聽especially聽the聽dull,聽repetitive聽and simple聽ones. But聽when聽a聽task鈥攐r an聽entire聽job鈥攊s聽replaced聽by AI, the change聽doesn鈥檛聽stop聽there. The jobs of the people聽using聽AI-produced聽information change聽too. 鈥淭he implications are聽much聽wider聽ranging聽and聽touch聽many聽more jobs聽than聽the initial job,鈥澛爏ays聽惭补迟颈蝉蝉补听贬辞濒濒颈蝉迟别谤,聽Assistant Professor of聽Organizational聽Behaviour.

鈥淭hose聽changes have implications for all聽kinds聽of聽other聽jobs聽around聽them,聽so聽those聽are聽bigger聽disruptions.聽You鈥檙e聽going聽to聽need聽to聽constantly聽rearrange聽these聽jobs. The rate of change has聽become聽so聽mind-blowingly聽fast聽that聽it鈥檚聽really聽hard聽to聽anticipate聽what鈥檚聽next.鈥 So fast, in聽fact,聽that聽Hollister聽predicts聽that聽flexibility聽will聽become聽a聽core聽skill.聽聽
