Maria del Carmen has a dual background in the fields of computer science and education science. She is interested in the analysis of doctoral experiences with a focus on interdisciplinary doctoral programs and researchers. She is also involved in the development of computer-assisted analysis tools that allow for richer investigations of diverse data sources and that scale to large amounts of information. Lately, she has been analyzing the production of interdisciplinary research in the context of new interdisciplinary doctoral structures with both qualitative and bibliometric methods.
