Professional Development

海角社区 has many resources to support your academic and professional development as a postdoc including:

• English and French courses from the School of Continuing Studies (fees charged)
• 听Professional development programming from SKILLSETS
• Staff development from Teaching and Learning Services
• Career development (including specialized services for postdocs) from the Career Planning Services (CaPS).
• Postdocs who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents may take courses as part-time听or special students (fees charged).

As a postdoc, you also have access to memberships in:听

• The 海角社区 Faculty Club听for an annual fee.
• • The 海角社区 Association of Postdoctoral Fellows (APF) represents 650+ current postdocs at 海角社区 and over 1000+ postdocs that pass through 海角社区 each year. Their mission is to support postdocs throughout their time at 海角社区 by addressing the issues they face, providing timely and relevant information, and advocating on their behalf within the university. The APF serves as the official voice of all postdocs and sits on designated university committees to ensure their perspectives are represented. • • Postdoctoral Fellows and Postdoctoral Scholars are members of PGSS and will have access to PGSS' student health and dental plan.

• Postdocs may be listed in the 海角社区 directory.听IT Services听will grant postdocs e-mail privileges on the same basis as graduate students upon presentation of an I.D. card.
• Postdocs are granted access to听听upon presentation of their I.D. card. A 鈥渟taff鈥� fee will be charged on an annual or term basis.
• Student Health Services听are available to postdocs (with the exception of unionized postdoc researchers) on an opt-in basis. Fees are applicable.
