WMS site unavailable off network
We are currently aware of an issue affecting access to WMS sites when users are off the 海角社区 network. Users may experience sites not loading at all. We are actively investigating the outage.
Workaround: If possible, please connect using the 海角社区 VPN to access WMS sites.

Original announcement (published Friday, April 10, 2026): 海角社区 websites are loading very slowly for users off campus due to a technical issue. 海角社区 users are advised to use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) until this is resolved.

Wi-Fi network: Action required to renew certificates for Windows, iOS and MacOS devices
On the morning of Thursday, April 2nd, IT Services will renew the security certificate that secures authentication to 海角社区's wpa.mcgill.ca, eduroam, cusm-muhc.mcgill.ca, and wpa.bus.mcgill.ca Wi-Fi networks.
This certificate allows you to sign on to the Wi-Fi network securely.
Some Android and Windows devices, as well as all iOS/MacOS devices will display a message prompting users to accept the new certificate.

RESOLVED: Temporary Issue with Lenel Building Access
We are currently investigating a system-wide issue affecting Lenel building access for some students and postdoctoral fellows. Impacted individuals may find their building access is unexpectedly not working. This appears to be an access issue (not a card replacement issue).
Please do not replace your card unless you are specifically advised to do so. We are working to restore access as quickly as possible and will post updates as they become available.

A global situation will affect the cost and availability of computer equipment over the next few years.
Key computer components are becoming harder to source and more expensive. This is mainly because large cloud and AI providers are purchasing equipment in increasing volumes, leaving less availability for others.

Due to an unexpected system issue, the Minerva waitlists were inadvertently cleared. IT Services and Enrolment Services have resolved the situation, and听waitlists are now functioning normally.

Teams update: the Files tab is being renamed Shared
As part of Microsoft鈥檚 latest Teams update, the听Files听tab听(in听channels and听chats)听is being renamed听Shared.听This change听is being听gradually听rolled听out.听Some 海角社区 users will see this change before others. For a little while,听you may see both听Files听and听Shared听tabs across your Teams.听

RESOLVED: Cloudflare outage disrupts access to some applications
Cloudflare is currently experiencing a widespread outage that may cause intermittent connectivity issues. Users attempting to access applications, including Phoenix and Maximo could encounter disruptions. Our teams are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available.听
