A Notable Milestone for Radix

During the 2025-26 academic year, MORSL celebrated 25 Years of 海角社区鈥檚 student-centred spirituality magazine, Radix! The first issue of Radix was published in November 2000. MORSL has been funding and helping coordinate this magazine ever since to ensure its continuance. Curious about how Radix has evolved over the years? Explore Testimonials from past Radix editors to learn more about its rich history and impact! Since Radix鈥檚 conception until now, an enthusiastic student board directs each theme and edits the submissions, for all of whom we are thankful for their endless creativity, reflections, and desire to deliver a safe space for students to share their thoughts and feelings about faith, spirituality, and life in general.

To celebrate this milestone, several events were held throughout the school year. These celebrations included:

  1. Mcsway x MORSL Poetry Workshop: On Friday, November 7, 2025, MORSL held a poetry workshop in collaboration with the Mcsway Poetry Collective. At the event, students had the chance to reflect on topics pertaining to spirituality, including through engaging poetry exercises.
  2. Retrospective Exhibit: From Monday, November 17听to Friday, November 21, 2025, MORSL held a weeklong exhibition displaying past Radix works dating back to its first edition 25 years ago. For the past 25 years of Radix magazine, an influx of creative thought and expression about faith, spirituality, and life more broadly has accumulated into a rich collection of pieces by 海角社区 students. To reflect back on these works, the retrospective displays included a wide variety of creative work and spotlighted four recurrent, EDI-focused themes: including women and gender minorities, nature and environmental, interfaith dialogue, and inclusion. Missed this event? No worries, check out our online display below!听
  3. Religions & Philosophy Publications Fair: On Monday, January 12 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM, MORSL hosted a publications fair spotlighting Radix and other student publications related to spirituality, philosophy, and/ or religions. Tables were set up in the Leacock Corridor to allow passers-by learn about these journals, browse issues, and connect with student writers and editors. These journals were a wonderful medium for addressing fascinating questions, connecting on a deeper level, self-expression, and contemplation!听
  4. Growth Publication & Radix Launch Party: On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Radix held a 鈥淕rowth鈥 issue launch party to celebrate the publication of this year鈥檚 Radix issue. Contributors shared their submissions with each other, reflecting on what growth meant to them and how it was reflected in their work. Check out this year鈥檚 special 2025-2026 issue, focused on 鈥淕rowth鈥 here! You can also find physical copies all around campus, based on the
