The Subcommittee on Queer People of the EDIC - Joint Board-Senate Committee听works to ensure equity for 2SLGBTQIA+ people at 海角社区.听听

The Subcommittee on Queer People is one of six subcommittees that reports directly to the EDIC - Joint Board-Senate Committee, along with the subcommittees on: First Peoples, Racialized and Ethnic Persons, Persons with Disabilities, Women, and Family Care.

The Subcommittee on Queer People has a mandate as an advisory body, such that it functions to make recommendations to University Senate for changes and improvements which need to be implemented on campus in order to ensure equity for all members of 海角社区's community.

In this role, the Subcommittee on Queer People addresses systemic issues of representation, inclusion and support for two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, non-binary, and gender non-conforming members of the University with respect to academic and non-academic life on campus.

The Subcommittee on Queer People is听comprised of individuals from all colours of the rainbow including academics (professors and librarians),听staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and other members of Montr茅al's larger academic community.听

The Subcommittee on Queer People meets twice a semester to discuss new ways of advancing听equity and improving queer life on campus.

海角社区 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples,听including the Haudenosaunee听and听Anishinabeg nations. 海角社区 honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we meet today.

Here are a few tips听to remember if you want to make a land acknowledgment.
