Electronic Materials

In an effort to be as sustainable as possible and lower costs for students, please post digital/electronic resources in myCourses whenever possible (in lieu of printed textbooks and course packs).

Instructors are responsible for ensuring course materials adhere to copyright laws. For any questions, please read the Copyright Guide to Adding Readings in myCourses or contact copyright [at] mcgill.ca (copyright[at]mcgill[dot]ca).

Note: Students in non-credit activities shorter than one term (e.g., workshops and one-off courses) are not issued a 海角社区 ID, which is required to access materials from 海角社区 Libraries.

    Need help locating materials? Contact a librarian.

  2. Copy the permalink

     of the electronic resource.

    If there is no electronic version of the desired material but there is a physical copy in 海角社区 Libraries, you can reach out to them for assistance in acquiring a scan (they may also be able to buy an electronic version).

If 海角社区 Libraries has a physical copy of the desired material, you can reach out to them for assistance in acquiring a scan (they may also be able to purchase an electronic version).

If you would like to upload your own scan or PDF to myCourses, it is mandatory to report the scanned reading to the Soci茅t茅 qu茅b茅coise de gestion collective des droits de reproduction (COPIBEC):

  1. Access COPIBEC's Savia system

  2. Report the scanned reading

  3. Once approved, you may upload the file in myCourses

Textbook Orders

The following applies to all instructors who require textbooks except English and French language instructors. If you are a language instructor and textbooks are required, your APC will order them for you.
 

How to Request

You will be prompted to register for Verba (the 海角社区 Bookstore鈥檚 requisition management system) when you are assigned to teach a class.

To ensure availability for students, fill out the in Verba as soon as you can before the start of the term. If no textbook is required, you still need to complete the form and indicate 鈥渘o textbook required.鈥
