Sydney Campbell

Sydney is a PhD candidate in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, simultaneously completing a Collaborative Specialization in Bioethics through the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics. Her doctoral work aims to generate normative and empirically-informed evidence to advise future policy deliberations pertaining to Medical Assistance in Dying for Mature Minors, particularly within the Ontario context. Her broad research interests pertain to end-of-life decision making, child well-being, children's rights, child health, and health policy.ÌýSydney joined VOICE in 2020 to lead various projects examining the impacts of theÌýCOVID-19 pandemic on children and youth, under the supervision of Dr. Franco Carnevale.Ìý

Renata Bubadué

Renata Bubadué

Renata is a registered nurse in Brazil and former research trainee at VOICE. She completed her Masters and Doctoral studies at Anna Nery School of Nursing at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Her research interests include nursing advocacy care, children's rights and knowledge translation in the context of Children with Special Health Care Needs and HIV/AIDS.

Nora Makansi

Nora joined the VOICE project in January 2015 as theÌýlead on the school research toÌýconduct ethnographic interviews with key informants (students in primary and secondary education as well as selected adults within the school setting) and participant observation in kindergarten classes.
HerÌýundergraduate background is Dentistry. SheÌýcompleted herÌýMasters and Doctoral studies at the department of community oral health at º£½ÇÉçÇø. In herÌýDoctoral research, sheÌýused a mixed methods approach to examine the behavioral and socio-environmental factors associated with eating habits in an adolescent population.

Raissa Passos dos Santos

Raissa Passos Dos Santos

Raissa has a background in Nursing with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the ÌýFederal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). She completed a doctoral degree in Nursing at º£½ÇÉçÇø in children with medical complexity as a VOICE trainee. Her doctoral thesis explored the experiences of children living with medical complexity in Brazil, focusing on moral agency and the inclusion of children’s voices in matters about their health condition. During her doctoral studies, she received competitive funding from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé. In 2016-2020, she received research grants from the David McCutcheon Pediatric Palliative Care Research Fund. During her Ph.D. program, she was part of º£½ÇÉçÇøâ€™s Global Health Scholars Program and volunteered at the pediatric palliative care service Le Phare Enfants et Familes in Montreal.
